Candidate Profile
1. Connection to Wild Eagle Lodge
Describe your connection to Wild Eagle Lodge, including how long you have been connected with the property and how you use it.
My family and I have been owners at Wild Eagle Lodge since 2021, and we currently own two units. We enjoy spending time at the resort with our family and appreciate everything that makes Wild Eagle such a special place. We take pride in our ownership and want to see the property continue to be a beautiful, welcoming place for owners and guests to enjoy.
2. Relevant Experience
Summarize the professional, volunteer, board, financial, property, or other experience you would bring to WELCA.
My professional background includes Property and Casualty insurance and managing the Hostess House restaurant in Marion, Indiana, where I oversaw daily operations, managed employees, and handled challenges as they arose. I have always had a passion for landscaping and creating beautiful, welcoming spaces. I enjoy finding ways to enhance a property?s appearance and have taken the initiative to help beautify Wild Eagle Lodge, including designing and arranging the planters around our pool patio.
3. Reasons for Running & Priorities
Why are you seeking a seat on the WELCA Board, and what two priorities would you focus on during your term?
I would love the opportunity to serve on the Architectural Review Committee because I care about the appearance of Wild Eagle Lodge and believe first impressions are so important. When someone arrives at our property, I want them to immediately see the pride we take in ownership. My two priorities would be maintaining the beauty and character of Wild Eagle Lodge and identifying opportunities to enhance our landscaping and common areas while being mindful of costs.
4. Responsibilities to Owners
What do you believe are the Board’s most important responsibilities to WELCA owners, and how would you approach those responsibilities?
I believe one of the most important responsibilities is protecting our property values while maintaining the beauty and character of Wild Eagle Lodge. As a member of the Architectural Review Committee, I would approach decisions with fairness, consistency, and consideration for all owners. I believe improvements should complement the property and contribute to its long-term appeal.
5. Evaluating Competing Priorities
Board members must weigh financial needs, property maintenance, owner interest, governing documents, and long-term planning. How would you evaluate competing priorities and make decisions?
I believe it is important to consider both the immediate needs of the property and the long-term benefits of any improvements. Not every project needs to be expensive to make a meaningful difference. Sometimes small, thoughtful changes can have a big impact. I would focus on practical improvements that enhance our property while respecting the association?s budget and the interests of all owners.
Board Service & Disclosure
6. Working Through Disagreement
How do you approach disagreement with other directors or owners, and how would you support the Board’s collective decision after a vote?
I understand that everyone has different opinions and ideas, and I believe it is important to listen and respect those differences. I am always open to hearing another perspective and working toward a solution that is best for the property. Even when I may not agree with a decision, I believe in supporting the committee and moving forward together.
7. Commitment to Board Service
Board service requires preparation, regular meeting attendance, review of materials, and follow-through between meetings. Can you make that commitment? Please note any known limitations.
Yes. I understand the commitment involved and am willing to dedicate the time needed to serve on the Architectural Review Committee. I care about Wild Eagle Lodge and would take the responsibility seriously.
8. Potential Conflicts of Interest
Please disclose any current business, employment, ownership, family, or financial relationship that could be reasonably viewed as an actual or potential conflict of interest involving WELCA business. Disclosure does not by itself disqualify a candidate.
My husband and I own two units at Wild Eagle Lodge, one of which participates in the rental program. My husband is also a candidate for the WELCA Board. I would disclose any potential conflicts of interest and make decisions based on what is best for the association.
