Candidate Profile

1. Connection to Wild Eagle Lodge

Describe your connection to Wild Eagle Lodge, including how long you have been connected with the property and how you use it.

Our family has been staying at Wild Eagle Lodge since its first year of operations. We purchased in 2019.

2. Relevant Experience

Summarize the professional, volunteer, board, financial, property, or other experience you would bring to WELCA.

  • 40 Years working in corporate business, managing large budgets, and global teams.
  • Volunteer at St. Joseph Parish in Grafton; Pastoral Council Member.
  • Former WELCA Board Member and Commercial & Business Oversight Committee Lead.

    3. Reasons for Running & Priorities

Why are you seeking a seat on the WELCA Board, and what two priorities would you focus on during your term?

Seeking a seat on the board to continue the work the current board has started.

    Priorities of focus:

    • Establishing a “Renters Sub-Committee” that represents all owners in the rental program and is the point of contact for Hiller.
    • Fiscal responsibility, controlling expenses and insuring association funds are spent thoughtfully.

    4. Responsibilities to Owners

What do you believe are the Board’s most important responsibilities to WELCA owners, and how would you approach those responsibilities?

Boards most important responsibilities are financial stewardship, property maintenance, long-term planning & communications that are transparent. I would work to scrutinize all spend, develop a 5-year maintenance plan.

    5. Evaluating Competing Priorities

Board members must weigh financial needs, property maintenance, owner interest, governing documents, and long-term planning. How would you evaluate competing priorities and make decisions?

Managing competing priorities should be managed through a consistent, practical framework that addresses safety concerns, legal requirements, urgency, cost, availability of funds, value to owners, and other available alternatives. All spend should be reviewed against these factors in order to establish priority.

    Board Service & Disclosure

    6. Working Through Disagreement

How do you approach disagreement with other directors or owners, and how would you support the Board’s collective decision after a vote?

All of my decisions would be weighted in what’s best for owners, not what I want. Any disagreements should be talked through with all board members, making sure we are all representing ALL owners. Healthy disagreement is good because we are making decisions with other people’s month and property.

    7. Commitment to Board Service

Board service requires preparation, regular meeting attendance, review of materials, and follow-through between meetings. Can you make that commitment? Please note any known limitations.

No limitations to making this commitment.

    8. Potential Conflicts of Interest

Please disclose any current business, employment, ownership, family, or financial relationship that could be reasonably viewed as an actual or potential conflict of interest involving WELCA business. Disclosure does not by itself disqualify a candidate.

    None.
